“Objectiu independència” (Goal independence) will be the motto of the mobilisation around Catalonia’s National Day on September 11. Organisers also want to send a strong message towards pro-independence parties and entities that strategic unity in order to reach that goal is more necessary than ever.
A huge rally will end at the Plaça d’Espanya in Barcelona, close to Montjuïc. “We have looked for a big square where large streets converge, because we want to represent that there is a meeting point for all of us which is independence'”, said the president of the grassroots organisation ANC, Elisenda Pluzie.
About the need for strategic unit, Paluzie believes that “it is not a sufficient condition, but it is imperative”. And she added: “Strategic unit means exchanging ideas and projects to define a strategy that, this time, is a winner. Let us overcome the obstacles and reach the shared political goal together”.

This morning saw also the presentation of this year’s T-shirt, which serves to finance the organisation. It will be turquoise blue and have a star on the chest, which symbolises the goal of independence.
