The judge informed that the full extradition hearing will start on May 11.

Here is the statement of Ponsatí’s lawyer Aamer Anwar at the end of today’s hearing, focusing on the human rights violations that this prosecution represents:

Ponsatí’s extradition hearing is the first for an exiled former Catalan minister since earlier this month the European Parliament recognized the immunity of Carles Puigdemont and Toni Comín as MEPs, and they were allowed to take their seats in the EU chamber. Ponsatí will also become a MEP next week,  when the UK leaves the EU and five of its seats pass to Spain.

Ponsatí’s defence campaign is financed through crowdfunding.
