A hundred activists from grassroot pro-independence groups called CDR (Committees for the Defense of the Republic) chained themselves this morning to block the entrance to the High Court of Justice of Catalonia. Among the protesters, there was CUP MP Carles Riera.

The action served to denounce the repression against some of the activists that made a similar protest in February. The public prosecutor asks prison for eleven of the fourteen activists then arrested.

In a statement, the CDR recalled that the action in February was non-violent and was intended to denounce the repression after the 1 October referendum.
