As long as member states can veto this Parliament’s grand statements about the rule of law, they are largely hypocrisy. ”

Ponsatí also pointed out the case of the Catalans and dennounced that their rights are “of no concern to this Parliament”. She gave the example of a recent report by the Commission on the rule of law, which did not mention Amnesty International’s statements on Catalan political prisoners and the ruling of the UN Arbitrary Detention Group.
