The pro-independence civil society organization Catalan National Assembly (ANC) has called for protests to take place in 30 cities around the world after Spain’s Supreme Court announces the verdict for the Catalan referendum trial.
The United Kingdom, Germany, France, Mexico, and the United States are some of the countries in which ANC has organized demonstrations, with one of the main protests set to be in London in front of the Spanish Embassy.
Brussels is also expected to be one of the key points in which discontent against the verdict will be expressed internationally as ANC has planned concentrations at both the Spanish Embassy and in front of the European Commission, where certain prominent figures and MEPs will also be joining.
Other cities where protests have been planned include, among others, Dublin, The Hague, Hamburg, Washington, D.C., or Mexico City. ANC members in cities like Buenos Aires and Sao Paolo are yet to determine what actions will be carried out.
