The Camp Nou spectators wave thirty thousand ‘estelada’ flags in protest for the sanction the UEFA imposed on Barça precisely for the waving of ‘estelades’ and the cries of independence at the game against Bayer Leverkusen. The flags were handed out before the Champions League match with Bate Borisov. The UEFA hymn was also whistled out and cries of independence were heard.
See the video of the whistling over the UEFA hymn and the display of flags:
A large banner was also unfolded in the stands with the word ‘respecte’ on a blue background and with the club shield in an action promoted by Barça with the UEFA’s approval. This motto plays with the word ‘respect’, which the UEFA uses to promote fair play in the world of football.
