The Second Deputy PM of the Spanish government and Secretary General of Podemos, Pablo Iglesias, said that he is willing to talk to exiled Catalan President Carles Puigdemont, because he is the leader of a party “voted by many Spaniards”.
Iglesias was answering to questions from Popular Party MP Mario Garcés, who had asked him if he was in favor of Puigdemont taking part in a committee at the Spanish Congress, a possibility that has already been ruled out .
The head of Podemos also defended that the former president of the Catalan National Assembly, Jordi Sànchez, and the president of Òmnium Cultural, Jordi Cuixart, currently in prison, “are democrats who should be part of the political debate”.
