VilaWeb celebrates its 25th anniversary

VilaWeb celebrates today its 25th anniversary as one of the pioneering digital newspapers in Europe. In 1995, Assumpció Maresma, Vicent Partal and Joan Subirats started it by creating the Infopista, a directory of all the Catalan pages on the internet.

Over the course of the last 25 years, VilaWeb has become a multimedia information platform, working twenty-four hours a day. Its solid business model is based on the existence of nearly 19.000 paying subscribers.

In January 2014, VilaWeb launched the English edition.
