The Catalan National Assembly and Òmnium Cultural have convened a rally on Saturday, October 26, at 5 p.m. in Barcelona. With the slogan ‘Mobilise ourselves for freedom’, hundreds of thousands have gathered again and denounced Spanish repression and defended fundamental rights. After the sentence of the Catalan referendum trial was made public, protests take place every day in many towns and cities of Catalonia.

Over 100 organisations from civil society, trade unions, political entities and professional boards supported the rally and called their associates to attend.

When the rally came to an end later in the afternoon, many demonstrators moved to Via Laietana, where the Committees in Defense of the Republic (CDR) had called a protest in front of the Spanish police headquarters.
